The Gluten Free Food Awards is operated by ABV Media Ltd., trading as Gluten Free Food Awards, registered in Ireland under company number 585035. ABV Media Ltd. is the data controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy.

We only collect information you give us directly. We do not buy or scrape personal data.

When you enter the awards, we collect your name, brand or company name, email address, phone number, invoicing contact details, the products you enter, and any notes you add to your entry.

When you contact us through the website, we collect your name, email address and the content of your message.

When you visit the website, our hosting provider records standard technical information such as IP address and browser type in its server logs. We do not use this to identify individuals.

We use entry information to administer the awards — assessing and judging products, arranging sample delivery, invoicing, and contacting you about your entry and its results. Our lawful basis is the performance of a contract with you.

We use enquiry information solely to respond to you. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering questions about the awards.

We use invoicing and payment records to meet our accounting and tax obligations. Our lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.

If you are a winner, we publish the winning product, brand name and award level as part of announcing the results. This is part of entering the awards and is covered by our contract with you.

We will only send you marketing emails, such as reminders about future awards, if you have asked to receive them. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email or contacting us, and we will stop.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the awards, and only as far as needed:

• Our website hosting provider, which operates this site and its contact forms.
• Our email provider, which delivers and stores the messages you send us.
• Our judges and assessment panels, who receive product information for judging. Judging is carried out blind wherever possible.
• Our accountants and, where required, the Revenue Commissioners.

Where a provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on the safeguards required by data protection law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

We keep entry records for the awards year and for a reasonable period afterwards so we can maintain the winners archive and answer queries. Invoicing and financial records are kept for six years, as Irish tax law requires. Enquiry emails are kept for up to two years and then deleted.

Winners are published as a permanent public record of the awards. If you would prefer a past entry not to appear, contact us and we will discuss the options with you.

This website does not use cookies. We do not run advertising trackers, analytics tools or social media pixels, and nothing on this site follows you across other websites.

If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Have inaccurate information corrected.
• Ask us to delete your data, where we have no obligation to keep it.
• Object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use your data.
• Receive your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time, where we relied on consent.

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including encrypted connections across the website and access controls on the accounts that hold entry data. No system is completely secure, but we will tell you and the Data Protection Commission promptly if a breach affects your rights.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Significant changes affecting how we use your data will be communicated directly where we can.
